Temple Beth El- Portland, Maine
Completed phase one of a two-phase project for Temple Beth El.
Benchmark worked with Stephen Blatt Architects to develop the project budget with several rounds of pricing from design development through working drawings.
Benchmark completely renovated the administrative area, classrooms and built a 6,500 square foot addition including new classrooms and a platform/stage area. Benchmark also installed all new mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler, and electrical systems.
The steel frame and brick veneer exterior of the new addition complements the finish of the existing 1950′s building.
Benchmark has completed preliminary pricing for phase two of the project, which will assist the owner and architect in making informed decisions for the final design and finish selections of the next phase of construction. Phase two is a 15,000 square foot project including comprehensive renovations of the existing sanctuary and the addition of choir lofts, a library, and a chapel.
The Temple Beth El congregation continued to use the temple for services and special ceremonies throughout the duration of construction. Benchmark completed phase one of the project in May 2003.
