Unity Village

Benchmark built housing for 33 households in four buildings at Unity Village in the Bayside neighborhood of downtown Portland. Unity Village includes 17 three-bedroom units, 12 two-bedroom units, and 4 one-bedroom units, as well as common spaces including laundry, a children’s area, and a community room.

Unity Village met an urgent need for mixed-income housing on the peninsula. By creating in-fill housing on the former site of parking lots, the project hopes to stimulate revitalization of the diverse Bayside area.

As General Contractor for Unity Village, Benchmark was responsible for all aspects of construction under a lump sum contract. The project was completed in September 2001.
